Programme dates 2024/25
Here you will find all your delivery dates for advanced apprentices, HNC apprentices, higher apprentices, new apprentices and degree apprentices, including information on enrolment, induction and block release. There’s also information on work-based assessment, shutdown dates, return to work days and annual leave.

Dates of importance
- Christmas break | 23 December 2024 - 3 January 2025 (inclusive).
- October half-term (Level 3 only) | begins the week commencing 28 October 2024.

Advanced apprentices

Higher apprentices and HNC returners
- University of Sheffield induction: 4 September 2024 (1st year only)
- AMRC Training Centre induction: 5 September 2024 (1st year only)
- Semester one for all begins the week commencing 9 September 2024, 08:00 - 18:00.
Degree apprentices
- The University of Sheffield induction: 4 September 2024 (1st year only)
- AMRC Training Centre induction: 5 September 2024 (1st year only)
- Degree study starts the week commencing 12 September 2024 | 08:00-18:00
Between weeks commencing 23 June – 5 August 2025, 3rd-year degree apprentices will continue to work on their industrial projects and meet with their project supervisors. Final presentations will take place on Tuesday 12 August 2025.
Development competence (work-based assessment)
We intend that assessments and reviews in the workplace will take place face-to-face, providing it is in line with the latest government guidance and is safe to do so.
Annual leave
Wherever possible, annual leave should be taken during the pre-planned shutdown dates.
This is to ensure learners can use their holiday allocations during their time with the AMRC Training Centre without impacting their progress. This should be discussed and agreed upon by their employer in advance.
