Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Nuclear Manufacturing
On completion, as a nuclear scientist and nuclear engineer degree apprentice, you will be able to use the knowledge, skills and behaviours developed to enable systems and equipment to operate safely, efficiently and in an environmentally sustainable way, meeting the requirements set out by your employer and those of the Professional Body Institutions.

What jobs will I be trained for once I have finished this apprenticeship?
Nuclear scientist and nuclear engineer with the following typical disciplines in engineering or science-based degrees: process/chemical, mechanical, electrical, chemical, control & instrumentation, operations & management, commissioning / decommissioning, physicist, research scientist, and quality engineer.
Degree apprenticeship entry requirements:
You will need one of the following:
- 96 UCAS points
- A minimum of two A-Levels at grade A or above, including a mathematical-based subject and a science, technology, engineering or an additional mathematics-related subject
- An Engineering BTEC Level 3 with at least 120 credits at DD (Distinction Distinction) level or above
- EAL Diploma in an engineering-based subject at Distinction level
- Equivalent qualifications such as Technical Levels (T-Levels) at DD or above.
Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
