Active Moulds Ltd are looking for a CNC machinist apprentice to complete a Level 3 Machining Technician apprenticeship. This role will entail learning how set, operate and program for 3 axis CNC vertical machining centres. Working closely with experienced staff members to absorb transferable skills.
Role & responsibilities
- Learning how to set, operate and program for 3 axis CNC vertical machining centres
- Reading and understanding engineering drawings/ customer requirements
- Working closely with experienced staff members to absorb transferable skills to become a technician level machinist

Employer description:
Active Moulds manufacture moulds for the block paving and masonry Industry. The work team of Active Moulds produce a large range of moulds using the latest computer design programs.

Things to consider:
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study. You will return to your workplace one Friday per month. After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

Qualification Requirements:
Advanced Apprenticeships entry requirements
You will need both of the following:
- GCSE English language C or 4 or above
- GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.
Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
