Yamazaki Mazak UK Limited are looking for an Apprentice Field Service Engineer to complete a Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician apprenticeship to join their team.
Role & responsibilities:
The successful candidate will develop the following:
- Gain experience in Mazatrol controls, machine operations and movements
- Gain an understanding of Mazak product range
- Servicing / Installation and breakdown repair of Mazak CNC
- Follow H&S requirements at customers' premises
- Onsite fault diagnosis
- Checking machine alignments
- Changing electrical drives, motors, encoders
- Understand mechanical drawings and schematic electrical drawings
- Field-based role across all areas of service
- Visit customers across the UK - Staying away is expected, depending on distance
- Flexible working, including weekends
Skills required:
- Basic programming knowledge required
- Good problem-solving and teamwork abilities
- Exemplary timekeeping and attendance
- Computer literate, able to use Microsoft Office suite of software
- Can communicate with customers at several levels
- Proficient at writing reports

Things to consider:
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study. You will return to your workplace one Friday per month. After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

Qualification Requirements:
Advanced Apprenticeships entry requirements
You will need both of the following:
- GCSE English language C or 4 or above
- GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.
Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
