Young people’s charity meets with apprentices
Staff from a Rotherham charity that offers help to youngsters for substance misuse, drugs and alcohol issues visited the AMRC Training Centre yesterday to speak with apprentices.
Divert, run by the Change, Grow, Live charity, is a specialist substance misuse support service providing free and confidential support across Rotherham to ensure young people can access help in a place that works for them.
Kathryn Bisby from Divert met with apprentices. She said: “It has been a pleasure to speak to such a wonderful group of young people. They asked a lot of questions, got involved and gained very useful information around a serious topic.”
Tom Sidebottom, a teaching and learning mentor at the AMRC Training Centre, said it was great to welcome Divert to the training centre.
“It’s really important that we raise awareness of serious topics to help our apprentices stay safe and make well informed decisions,” he said. “Both Kathryn and Emma from Divert were great with the apprentices and sparked some very interesting conversations.”
